Soft Cheese

£6.95

Fondue is a dish in which small pieces of food are dipped into a hot sauce or a hot cooking medium such as cheese.

Fondue, comes from the French “fondre”, which means “to melt,” had its origins in 18th century Switzerland as a means for farm families to stretch their limited resources during the winter months.

Fondue is traditionally made and served in an earthenware pot known as a caquelon. It is used as a winter meal of comfort food to be enjoyed with family or friends.

Although locals consider fondue a main course, you’ll be able to enjoy it as an appetizer with Wheat Beer or salted crackers.

It pairs well with Red wines, but also with  Sauvignon Blanc, and Sancerre.
