The ancient French cheese has been made in small village based cooperative dairies or, fruitiere for over 8 centuries. A firm smooth combined with a buttery texture fruity flavoured Made with Cow’s Milk, at 24 months it has a spicy yet slightly sweet flavour and an extremely rich, dense texture, and white amino acid developed throughout the cheese from the extended maturation.
Perfect with a glass of Champagne or Sauvignon Blanc.
The Comte is a pressed and cooked cheese. It is unpasteurized but suitable for pregnant women.
The Comte is great for sandwiches, cooking or on a cheeseboard. Our recommendation? Try it with Butter Wholemeal Crackers, Hawkshead Chillililli and Lime and Chilli Fruit Puree.
